From Typhoon is an art embodiment of the storm’s power to transport and transform. Species, debris, chemicals, dreams and ideas have all been taken in the winds of typhoons to lands and oceans elsewhere.

He is also a Senior Associate Designer at Mithun and the Design Director for Yolk.tv. For nearly two decades he connects art and design to direct daring brand strategies for major tech companies, boutique hospitality experiences, and global fashion retailers. Up and down the West Coast, throughout Europe, and several posts in Asia, the lives of thousands of movers and shakers, have in some form or another been impacted by his innovative workplace designs. As a Fil-Am artist, he’s committed to sustainability, ecological resiliency, and restoration.

 

J.A. Dela Cruz-Smith, Director/Curator

He is a Chamoru-Filipino, Queer poet living in Seattle. His family is from Dededo and Chalan Pago, Guahan. His poems have appeared in Assaracus: A Journal of Gay Poetry, Indigenous Literatures from Micronesia (University of Hawai'i Press), Moss, among other publications. He has performed and read original work at the Wing Luke Museum of the Asian Pacific American Experience, the Center on Contemporary Arts, and at various festivals & conferences. He received an MFA in Creative Writing from the Rainier Writing Workshop. He also covers TV & film for Yolk.
